Charlee Kyser

Editorial Photographer

I'm Charlee, an editorial photographer based in Spokane, Washington.

I don't chase perfect moments—I chase honest ones. The ones with grit, tension, vulnerability, and soul. Whether I'm photographing a portrait, a wedding, a concert, or a brand, my goal is the same: to create images that feel less like photographs and more like scenes from a story that couldn't belong to anyone else.

You'll often find me creating alongside my husband, Jeff Kyser, a fellow Spokane photographer whose passion for storytelling complements my own. Together, we believe the best images aren't manufactured—they're discovered.

My work is rooted in contrast, emotion, and atmosphere. In black and white, I use light and shadow to reveal character, allowing every wrinkle, texture, glance, and gesture to carry meaning. In color, I embrace rich, cinematic tones—deep reds, electric purples, and striking blues—to create imagery that feels bold, immersive, and emotionally charged.

What draws me in isn't perfection—it's presence. I'm fascinated by the space where reality meets art, where documentary moments become cinematic and ordinary people become unforgettable. Every session is a collaboration, blending story, light, and emotion to create photographs that feel authentic, timeless, and unmistakably your own.

Because the most compelling stories were never meant to blend in.

What I Stand For

I don't believe in perfection.  I believe in creating images that tell a story through the combination of light, shape, and shadows.

I don't take photographs, I create photographs.  I focus on real moments and real events that shape us.  I also create stories, within my images.
